2015 Subaru WRX Release Date, Specs and Price - After a few leaked photos hit the web, Subaru has finally officially revealed the all-new 2015 WRX STI sedan at the Detroit Auto Show during this week. The overall design is similar to the standard model, but the new WRX STI brings boxer engine with a higher output than the standard WRX sedan.

In the same announcement, the Japanese automaker said that they would offer the Exclusive Launch Edition that will be produced in limited quantities to just 1,000 units. And will be available in WR Blue paint exterior colors with unique interior trim as well as ride on BBS gold forged alloy wheels.

2015 Subaru WRX has always had a partial athletic line that is characterized by aggressiveness and dynamics. The exterior is impressive and promising. The chassis is a new and much stronger. The new LED headlights and two separate grids are ideally blended. With both parties are built on two small grids with plastic parts. On them are placed blinkers and fog lights of the new generation. Improved channel air scoop is on the hood and leads to the intercooler engine. Is slightly sloping downwards in order to enhance the visibility. At the rear there is a well-integrated spoiler. The exhaust system is in the form of the 4 tubes which are located on either side by two in pairs.The wheels are very good. In terms of the Launch Edition Gold BBS aluminium alloy wheels of 18 inches in diameter. All things considered, this is a very attractive car for a wider range of customers.

It still feels like an STI, in part because the EJ-series 2.5-liter flat-4 and 6-speed manual carry over from the previous generation with a few changes. The engine now has a tube that amplifies a pleasing array of sounds into the cabin. You hear the flat-4 grumble, and the turbo whooshing and sneezing. Like the last-gen STI, you can also hear the hydraulic power steering swish around, too. The transmission has been tweaked to improve shift quality, but feels familiar as well.
2015 Subaru WRX Engine
The 2015 Subaru WRX will be equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that will be able to produce 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Upgraded engine will be mated to either 6-speed manual gearbox or CVT. Both transmissions will transfer power to all wheels, a manual splits power 50:50 front to rear while CVT a set of 8 pre-selected transmission ratios that mimic the manual gear shifts. Beside these upgrades 2015 Subaru WRX will also offer electric power steering and a sport-tuned suspension. Official EPA estimates are not published yet, but 2015 Subaru WRX with manual transmission will probably earn ratings of 21/28/24 mpg city/highway/combined, while with CVT numbers will be 19/25/21 mpg.

The WRX’s interior also adds to the sportier feeling of the new WRX, thanks to its all-new, flat-bottom, leather-wrapped steering wheel that offers integrated switches for audio and Bluetooth control. Subaru also added in some soft-touch materials for the dashboard, door trim and center console armrest, helping rid the cabin of as much scratchy plastic as it can. For those of you who practically live in your car, Subaru has also added numerous storage compartments around the center console, so you can safely store your stuff.

New for 2015 is a 3.5-inch LCD central screen that offers details on the oil level, remaining washer fluid and selected gear ratio, while a new multi-information central display, with a 4.3-inch LCD screen, offers details on the rear camera display, a boost gauge display, audio, Bluetooth and climate-control settings. A harman/kardon audio system helps round out the interior and give you some nice sound as you rip through the gears.

Among other features, the WRX now comes with standard automatic climate control; a flat-bottomed steering wheel that tilts and telescopes; Bluetooth; and steering-wheel audio and phone controls. In the STI, you get a lot of other extras, like leather and Alcantara (faux-suede) seating, dual-zone climate control, an improved center console, and LED headlamps and turn-signal mirrors; and these altogether help erase some of the price differential.

Major options on the WRX include a power driver seat; heated front seats; a sunroof; pushbutton start; and a harman/kardon audio system with 9 speakers, 440 watts of sound, navigation, and Aha Radio smartphone connectivity.
2015 Subaru WRX Release Date and Price
As for release date and price, the 2015 Subaru WRX STI will reportedly go on sale in the North American dealerships around March-June and unfortunately, Subaru has not announced official pricing details at this time.
